Legal
Privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
EVEIA (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website, eveia.org. We manage personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect the details you choose to give us:
- your name, email address and, optionally, your organisation
- the topic you select and the message you write
When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
How we use it
- to read and respond to your enquiry, and to pass it to the right person in our team
- to consider you for a role if you contact us about careers
- to keep the website secure and working properly
- to meet our legal obligations
We will not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run this website. They handle information only to provide their service to us:
| Provider | Purpose | Where data may be processed |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Website hosting, security and delivery | Global network, including the United States |
| Resend | Delivering contact form messages to our inbox | United States |
| Google Fonts | Serving the typefaces used on this site (your browser requests them directly, which shares your IP address with Google) | Global, including the United States |
Because some of these providers operate outside Australia, your information may be stored or processed overseas. We choose providers that maintain recognised security standards. We may also disclose information where the law requires or permits it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and to manage any ongoing relationship with you, and generally for no longer than two years after our last contact, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Hosting and security logs are kept by our providers for short periods under their own policies.
Keeping it secure
The website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to enquiries is limited to people in our team who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. To make a request, use the contact form and choose “Something else”.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first through the contact form and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as EVEIA grows. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
